Origins of the pomegranate

Inconspicuous yet robust, its fruits are tough, leathery and brightly coloured on the outside, and juicy and fruity on the inside.

What makes pomegranate seed oil truly special is the punicic acid that it contains. This polyunsaturated fatty acid belongs to the omega-5 group of fatty acids. It accounts for about half of the fatty acids contained in the oil. The precious oil is extracted from the dried seeds of the pomegranate.
